Representative from the Department for Education
A
policy update and discussion session on the Green Paper for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
At the time of this conference the government’s Green
Paper will have recently been published. We are delighted that a senior
colleague from the Department for Education with a thorough working knowledge
of the planned legislation and the policy direction for the years ahead, will
attend the conference to lead the session. A mixture of both presentation and
discussion will enable delegates to consider and respond to possible
forthcoming legislative and policy changes.
Workshops
Delegates will attend two workshops. Each
workshop is being led by an individual who is making a leading contribution
within each of the themes. The workshops will be rich with practical examples
of assistive technology and effective interventions that make a significant
contribution to the access and achievement of physically impaired pupils and
promote greater learning for independence.
Marketplace
There will be information and/or representatives from a
range of specialist organisations at the conference that can support curriculum
work in schools with pupils and students with physical disability.
